The story of PHEIA began in 1967, when Georgios Vriniotis, son of Andreas, envisioned a place of hospitality inspired by his travels across Greece.
As he journeyed through the country, he gathered images, experiences and emotions - seaside villages, light-filled landscapes, simple elegance and genuine human connection.
Returning to his family's land by the sea, he transformed those impressions into a hotel that reflected the essence of Greece as he had experienced it.

PHEIA, Vriniotis Resorts is built on the site of the ancient port of Olympia - Pheia, a place of strategic, cultural and historical importance since antiquity. Mentioned by Homer in the Odyssey, the bay of Pheia was part of Telemachus' journey in search of his father, Odysseus, returning from Troy. Later, as recorded by Thucydides during the Peloponnesian War, the ancient city of Pheia offered refuge to Athenian forces after their defeat in Sicily. Today, this same coastline remains untouched, forested and serene, where history meets the Ionian Sea. Facing west, the resort enjoys spectacular sunsets, with golden light reflecting over waters that have witnessed centuries of myth, travel and human passage.
